I decided to make my final project a foosball table because of how the few times I've played foosball in my life were very fun and I could think of many ways to use multiple machines in the Innovation Center to complete the goal of using three machines to create a project.

Designing the Sides
Cutting the Sides
For the sides where the poles would go through, I had to go through a little bit of a more complex series of steps for printing and keeping the board fastened. This included putting screws through the holes that would be cut out and use clamps after it is done cutting the outside. Unfortunately, the poles didn't fit in the holes as I thought that they would so I had to re-design and re-cut them.

For the bottom and largest side, I had to buy material as the plywood available in the Innovation Center wasn't big enough due to my lack of measuring the wood available for the project which was a very dumb decision on my part. I got particle wood because it was cheap and the ideal dimensions. It cut out well and fit well for the bottom of my foosball table.

Designing the Foosball Goal
I designed the foosball goal first and it was very blocky and not neat.
Once I realized this, I redesigned the goal to look like more of an actual soccer goal.

What I learned
In this project, and Big Idea in general, I learned to not procrastinate and to always make sure to plan things out and test before creating a design. I also learned how to use new machines and use previous machines better of course as well. I learned to plan ahead and the many negative impacts of not doing as much planning. Another important thing I learned was to push myself and that many projects sound easier than they actually will be. I learned a lot in Big Idea and it was one of my favorite classes of my freshman year.
